Mardell Jackson

Ramon Mardell Jackson, 87, of Columbus and formerly of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Taylor Springs Health Campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Mardell was born in Farmer, Ohio on December 22, 1934, a son of the late Burline (Burley) and Warren Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rheeta (Ehrhart); son, Tim and brother, Tyrone.

Mardell worked over 40 years at the LaFarge facility in Paulding, being employed in the lab. He was active in supporting community efforts, was a member of the Antwerp Conservation Club and a lifelong fan of The Ohio State University. He was a true Buckeye. Mardell also loved farming, continually pursuing improved farm methods and caring for his land. Those who knew him will always remember his good nature, quick wit and love for his family.

Mardell will be missed by his daughter, Suzanne (Michael) McCarthy, grandchildren Anna (Adam) Siebenaler, Sean (Melissa) McCarthy, Joshua Jackson, Jared (Drea) McCarthy, Erin (Ernesto) Villarreal and Brooke (Jeff) Appel, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing is Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 4 pm to 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

Mardell's funeral service is Thursday, December 15, 2022, 10:30 am, with viewing from 9:30 am to 10:15 am at Antwerp United Methodist Church, 202 E. River Street, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery in Antwerp.

Flowers and other tributes may be delivered Wednesday, 9 am to 2 pm, to the flower delivery door at the Antwerp Funeral Home.
