Martha M. Stumphy, 89, of Antwerp, passed away Sunday, December 27th, at The Gardens of Paulding.
Martha was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Lena (Werner) and Thomas J. Elia.
On June 29, 1940, Martha married Robert Stumphy, who passed away Nov. 27, 1990.
She was an assembler at Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp for more than 25 years; devout member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, a member of the Ritz Buckeyes Chapter of the Red Hat Society & a charter member of VFW Gold Star Post 5087 Auxiliary.
Martha will be sadly missed by her son, Leo (Jane) of Defiance; daughters, Diane (Bob) Phillips & Judy (Chuck) Sawyer both of Antwerp; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren & 5 great-great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her infant children, Katherine & Richard and brothers Marcus & Thomas Elia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Antwerp, at 10 am on Wednesday, December 30th, with Rev G. Allan Fillman officiating.
Viewing, Tuesday 4-8 pm, with a VFW Auxiliary Service at 8 pm and Recitation of the Rosary at 8:15 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. Viewing is also Wednesday, 9-9:30 am at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
