Max L. Johnston, Sr., age 66, of Cecil, Ohio, passed away at 6:50PM, Friday, January 14th, 2005 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, Ohio. Max was born in Clinton, Michigan on April 4, 1938, the son of Roth and Olive (Kretchman) Johnston. On April 17, 1960, Max married Nancy A. Keegan. He served in the U.S. Army as a SGT., was a former member of the Paulding Fraternal Order of Eagles. He retired from Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp. Max enjoyed bowling on many different leagues, many sports, gambling and was a University of Michigan fan. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy and mother, Olive, bothe of Cecil; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Denny Wells of Mark Center and Julie of Cecil; sons, Max, Jr. of Cecil and Mark of Antwerp; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters maxine May of Cecil; brothers, Ed of Cecil, Earl of Antwerp, David of Fort Wayne; half sisters, Carol William and Rosemary Harold of Florida; half brother, Leroy Johnston of Florida; step sisters, Marie Cleghorn and Hazel Whitman of Florida; step brothers, Larry Livingston of California and Mike Bidlack of Florida. His father, Roth; son, Craig; brother, Eugene and stpmother, Edna Johnston have passed away.
You are invited to participate in his funeral service, Wednesday, January 19th, 11 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, with Reverend Jim Edwards officiating. You may call Tuesday, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM and Wednesday after 10 AM. Max will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp, with military honors.
