Maxine Gordon

Maxine V. Gordon, 90, of Payne, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her residence.

Maxine was born in Fort Wayne on July 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Eleanora (Schone) and Frank  Alter.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish of Paulding County, She was active in the Rosary/Altar Society & the church funeral dinner committee. Maxine was also a proud supporter of Paulding County Right to Life and many other church missions.

On June 14, 1952 she married Paul Gordon, who survives.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Paul; daughters, Linda (Dennis) Sullivan of Indianapolis & Eileen (Marc) Durette of Minocqua, WI; sons, David (Debra), Ken & Bill (Lori) all of Payne; siblings, Frank Alter of Tampa, FL, Helen Darling of Decatur, IN, Joseph & Raymond Alter both of Fort Wayne & Jerome Alter of Sidney, Australia; 11 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild.

She is also preceded in death by her son, Richard and siblings, Albert Alter & Mary Jane Caines.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne at 10 am on Thursday, April 21st.

Viewing is Wednesday, 4-8 pm, with the Rosary recited at 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.  Viewing is also Thursday,  9-9:30 am, at Dooley Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
