Melvin Ronald Baughman

Melvin Ronald Baughman, 78, of Grabill, IN, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Melvin was born in Harlan on September 16, 1941, a son of the late Howard & Florence (Schaefer) Baughman.

As a young man, he loved basketball and working in the shop with his father. He worked for Irving Gravel Company for almost 50 years. He loved playing his guitar, fishing and playing corn hole.  

He will be remembered for being a man of faith who loved his family dearly. 

Melvin will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruth ann (Sayles), whom he married May 23, 1976; children, Rosie (Ted) McSorley, Brenda (Jeff) Conley, Kim (Dave) Kreilach, Dennis (Alicia) Harter, Darren (Kara) Harter, Connie (Mark) Miller & Dewight Harter; sister, Kathy (Randy) McMahan; 15 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Baughman; sister, Shirley Reddin & Bonnie & Carolyn Baughman.

His funeral service is 10:30 am with viewing, 9:30 am - 10:15 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at  Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 18330 IN-37, Harlan, Indiana .

Viewing is also Tuesday, September 15, 2020, 4 -7 pm at the church.

Due to state mandate we ask that you wear masks at all times, maintain social distancing, and refrain from contact to keep everyone safe while participating in Melvin's viewing and service.

He will be laid to rest at Scipio Cemetery.

Memorials are to South Scipio United Brethren Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
