Norvel Banks

Norvel E. Banks, 81, of Hicksville, bid a fond farewell and auf wiedersehen to his family and friends Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his residence.

Norvel was born in Cecil, Ohio on April 18, 1927, the son of the late Stanley and Jennie Mae (Taylor) Banks.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt in WW II and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 20 years and Harlan Cabinet for 15 years.

On November 15, 1947 he married Irmgard Schmidt.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Irmgard; daughter, Maurine Holle of Fort Wayne; son, Aaron of Denver; grandsons, Allen & Nathan Holle. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen E. Banks and sisters, Roma Banks & Juanita Shreve.

He was laid to rest November 3, 2008 at Bethel Cemetery, Cecil.

His family requests donations to Crane Twp. Trustees for the Forder-Bethel Cemetery Fund or Defiance County Hospice.
