Ralph L. Taylor, age 83, of Antwerp, passed away at 2:44 PM, Sunday, October 9th, 2005 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Ralph was born in Antwerp, Ohio on November 7, 1921, he was the son of the late Ray and Olive (Overmeyer) Taylor.
He was the husband of Marylene L. (Matzen) Taylor, who survives. They were married in 1941.
Ralph was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Antwerp he served on the Antwerp Fire Dept for 25 years, 18 years as Fire Chief. He was instrumental in organizing the first rescue squad in Antwerp. He also served on the Antwerp Water Board and Village Council.
He worked as a carpenter at Uniroyal Goodrich, Woodburn. He also worked at Langham's Body Shop & owned his own auto body shop in Antwerp.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Marylene; daughter, Ellouise Copsey of Antwerp;
granddaughter, Joyce Copsey and 4 great grandchildren, Chris & Melitta Mendez, Mandolin Childers and Adam Keogh.
His granddaughter, Josette Marie Copsey; sisters, Marie Cottrell, Edna McDonald and Ruth Jones; brothers Harry and Ora Taylor have passed away.
You are invited to participate in his funeral service at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, . at 11 am EDT on Thursday, October 13th, with Rev David Meriwether officiating.
You may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm EDT and Thursday 10 am EDT at Dooley Funeral Home.
He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
