Robert L. Thompson, 98, of Harlan passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Robert was born in Antwerp, Ohio on November 10, 1917, a son of the late Florence (Gustin) and Walter Thompson.
He served proudly in the U.S. Army in WW II and was a Life Member of The Antwerp VFW Post 5087. Robert was employed at Ruckman & Hansen and Co-State Construction as an Ironworker. Robert enjoyed time with his nieces & nephews, fishing, and at the Card Room in Antwerp.
He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Betty (the late Jack) Richmond of Hicksville, Pauline (Max) Nusbaum of Woodburn, Bonita (Walter) Stopher, and Jim (Ruth) Thompson all of Harlan; a host of nieces & nephews, great and great great nieces & nephews.
His brothers, Charles (Earleen), Max (Roma) & Russell (Viola) also preceded him in death.
His funeral service is Friday at 11 am with viewing from 9:30 to 11 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, Ohio.
He will be laid to rest at Scipio Cemetery, with militray honors.
