Robert D. Wyckoff, 86, of Antwerp, passed away Friday, May 9th, 2008, 8:45 am, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
Bob was born in Hicksville, on April 6, 1922, the of the late John B. and Katherine E. (Smith) Wyckoff.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in WW II and was a member of the Antwerp VFW Post 5087, Antwerp, American Legion Post 253, the DAV & Purple Heart Veterans. He had the honor of receiving his Purple Heart Award from President Clinton in 1996.
Bob worked at Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp, but also owned Bob's Barber Shop, Antwerp.
On June 20, 1944 Bob married Roma Neiford, who passed away February 15, 2005.
Bob will be sadly missed by his children, Jackie (Jerry) VanCleve and Benny (Deb), both of Antwerp; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. His son, Robin, passed away.
You are invited to participate in his service at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, Tuesday, 11 am, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Jim Edwards will officiate.
He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp, with military honors.
Visitation is Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
The family requests donations to Paulding Area Visiting Nurses.
