Rodger Temple

Rodger S. Temple, 71, of The Manor in Antwerp, Ohio passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 in Defiance, Ohio.

Rodger was born in Lancaster, Ohio on July 26, 1951, a son of the late June L. (Shumaker) and James S. Temple.

He graduated in 1970 from Antwerp High School went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War for 2 years on the USS Saratoga off the coast of Vietnam and Cambodia. After his military service, he graduated from Ivy Tech and then joined his family as a photographer at the Antwerp Bee Argus Newspaper where he operated his own print shop. He was also a former trustee of the Antwerp VFW and Ehrhart Museum and was active in moving the Antwerp Depot. Rodger loved God, his family, life, photography, books, cars and poetry.

Rodger will be sadly missed by his sisters, Marcia Creelman & Sandra Kay Temple, his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and four legged friend, Susie-Q Mae.

Viewing is Monday, February 13th at 10 am at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

His funeral service is Monday, February 13th at 11 am at Dooley Funeral Home.

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, with military honors from VFW Post 5087 of which Rodger was a proud member.
