Roy DeWayne Flaugh, 93, of Payne, passed away at 3:04 pm, Monday, July 13th, 2009 at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Roy was born in Ft Wayne on August 14, 1915, the son of Harry G. & Orpha (Reed) Flaugh. On January 17, 1940, he married Elenore Guysinger. He was a self employed carpenter & 66 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local 232, Ft Wayne; 66 year member & Past Master of Flat Rock Masonic Lodge # 580, Payne; 65 year member of the Scottish Rite Masons, Valley of Toledo & Saint Jacobs United Church of Christ, Payne. Roy was also an avid hunter, fisherman & enjoyed playing golf.
Roy will be sadly missed by his 2 sons, Jerry (Dorothy) & Gene (Kathy) Flaugh; one daughter, Carol (Russell) Zuber all of Payne; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren & 1 great-geat grandaughter.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife of 50 years, 5 brothers, Byron, Paul, Ralph, Ellery & Richard & 3 sisters, Thelma Wire, Betty Bachellor & Crystal Leeth.
Services are at Saint Jacobs United Church of Christ, Payne at 11 am on Friday, July 17th, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. James Langham will officiate.
Viewing is Thursday, 4 to 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne, with Masonic Rites at 8 pm. He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery.
His family requests donations to Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice or the church.
