Russell E. Figert, 93, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away at home Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Russ was born in Payne, Ohio on January 2, 1932, a son of the late Mildred (Bowen) and Chester Figert.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then went on to farm and be a valued employee at International Harvester. You could always count on his quick sense of humor to raise your spirits. He enjoyed every activity at the Antwerp Conservation Club, the Payne Grange, the card room in Antwerp and eating lunch with his close friends. Russ even had his own chair and coffee cup at the Antwerp Elevator. His family will always remember the special love he had for each and every one of them.
Russ will be sadly missed by his wife, Mildred (Bodeker) to whom he was married June 28, 1958; children, Mark (Jeanette) Figert, Scott (Yuridia) Figert and Tami (Dennis Bultemeier) Brenneke; siblings, Robert and Richard Figert; grandchildren, Justin, Andrew, Jared, Melissa, Logan, Kylee and Alex and 10 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Patsy Blankenship, Donna Flagg and Linda Meyers.
Viewing is Thursday, April 10th, 3 - 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
His funeral service is 10:30 AM, with viewing 9:30 - 10:15 AM on Friday, April 11th Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
He will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne, with military honors.
