Sharen Kay Bass Lee

Sharen Kay Bass Lee, 76, of Payne,  passed away Friday, October 23, 2020, at Vancrest of Payne.

She was born in Chillicothe on July 24, 1944 a daughter of the late Rev. Amanda Jane (Sharp) and Rev. Martin Van Buren Bass.

Kay was a long standing member of the Payne Nazarene Church where she was the music director for many years. She was a school bus driver for Wayne Trace Schools for 23 years where she was the favorite of many students. 

She married Robert R. Lee in 1963 who passed away in 2004. 

Kay leaves behind her daughters, Shelly (Rev. Ricky) Grimes of Antwerp & Mandy (Kent) Lichty of Hicksville; grandchildren, Sam (Amanda), Joseph & Kay Grimes, Ava & Calvin Lichty: siblings, Paul Bass, Faith Mansfield, Juleen Crawford & Jewel Kurtz.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Gibson, Rev. Martin Bass, Rev. Warren Bass & Rev. Dale Bass.

Her viewing is Wednesday, 1 pm with funeral service at 2 pm at Payne Church of the Nazarene,  509 Orchard St, Payne, OH 45880.

She will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery. 

Due to state mandate must wear masks at all times, maintain social distancing, and refrain from contact to keep everyone safe while participating in her viewing and funeral service.
