Atanasia "Tana" Palacios, 63, of Antwerp, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Tana was born in Wauseon, Ohio on July 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Andrea (Martinez) and Jose Mendez.
She was a member of South Scipio United Brethren Church.
Tana will be sadly missed by her children, Martina (Jim) Calhoun of Antwerp, Martin (Jennifer) of Tacoma, WA & Samuel of Antwerp; siblings, Connie Thiel of Baton Rouge, LA; Michael Mendez of Fort Wayne; Nick Mendez of Cecil; Eleanor Estep of Fort Wayne; Raymond Mendez of Ayersville; Mary Fry of Defiance; Joseph Mendez of Zion, IL; Ami Dunderman of Antwerp & David Mendez of Ney and grandchildren Dante, Myah, Anissia, Olivia, Christian, Jayden, Tyler & Nichole.
She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Samuel, Moses, Joshua, Ted & Chris Mendez, Marianne Reyes, Ester McHargue, Joan Rodriguez.
Her funeral service is at Antwerp United Methodist Church, 202 E. River Street, Antwerp at 3 pm on Saturday, May 7th. Rev. Gary Gates will officiate.
Viewing is Saturday, 1 to 3 pm at Antwerp United Methodist Church.
