Tona I. Roberts, 78, of Antwerp, passed away at 7:30 pm, Friday, July 18th, 2008 at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne, Ohio.
Tona was born in Fort Wayne on April 22, 1930, the daughter of the late Lorin and Margaret (Wallace) Marquiss.
She served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl. and married Jim Roberts, who survives. Tona was a school bus driver for Antwerp Local Schools and later a volunteer. She was a member of the Antwerp VFW Post 5087, Antwerp American Legion Post 253 & Bryan Amvets Post 54.
Tona will be sadly missed by her husband, Jim; daughters, Martha (Tommy) Dangler of Bryan, Janet (Dennis) Happel of Huntertown, IN & Laura (Jeff) Weaver of Payne; sons, Tom of Antwerp & Tim (Patty) of Churubusco, IN; sisters, Mary Keeley of Hicksville, Ethel Flaugh of Payne; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her brother, John Marquiss preceded her in death.
Graveside service Thursday, 11 am, Maumee Cemetery, County Road 43, Antwerp, with military honors. Rev. Jammie Hughes will officiate.
Visitation was Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
