Walt Womack

Walter Womack, 84, of Antwerp, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at The Manor in Antwerp surrounded by his family. 

Walt was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on May 9, 1938, a son of the late Margaret (Bailey) and James E. Womack.

Walt proudly served in the United States Navy. He went on to work at Uniroyal Goodrich for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He also served his community as an Antwerp Fireman for 26 years as well as town maintenance, but nothing compared to his love of God and his beloved family. He was an active member of the American Legion.  He was an avid Detroit Tiger and Ohio State fan. He never missed any event that his grandkids participated in.  He was blessed with more orneriness than one could handle.  He also had an OCD level of perfection for manicuring his yard. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret (Eaken) to whom he was married July 8, 1961; children, Elaine (David) Pendergrast and Craig (Jeanette) Womack; grandchildren, Kendra (John) Ganger; Jennifer (Josh) Smith and Troy Womack; great grandchildren, Perry Ganger, Emma & Josie Smith. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Womack, Kenneth Womack & Russell Womack. 

Viewing is Monday, 4 pm to 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Walts's funeral service is Tuesday, 10:30 am, with viewing from 9:30 am to 10:15 am at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery with military honors.
