Wayne O. Gordon, 84, of Cecil, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Wayne was born in Antwerp, Ohio on July 9, 1928, a son of the late Lizzie (Wentworth) and William Gordon.
He attained the rank of Corporal in the U.S. Army, serving from 1951 to 1957. Wayne was a member of the Antwerp American Legion Post 253. Wayne was a lifelong farmer and worked at Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp.
On Jan 25, 1951 Wayne married Marceil McMichael.
Wayne will be sadly missed by his wife Marceil; children, Debra (Thomas) Clouse of Tiffin, Linda (Jan) Leaders of Napoleon & Daniel (Margie) Gordon of Cecil; grandchildren, Kimberly (Randy) Carpenter, Jody (Jacob) Bernath, Sarah, Amy & Laura Leaders, Boston (Sumer) Waltenberger, Brandon Headley & Dalton (Brooke) Gordon.
Wayne was also preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Beerbower, Dorothy Schwartzwalder, Helen Emenhiser, Edith Cook and Edwin, Don & Kenny Gordon & great grandchild, Maxwell James Waltenberger.
Viewing is Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St., Antwerp.
His funeral service is at Dooley Funeral Home, at 11 am on Saturday, September 1st, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Max Begley will officiate.
He will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery.
